INAUGURATION OF ENGLISH ASSOCIATION AND LITERARY CLUB

The department of English, in association with the IQAC, GCTE,TVM organised the inauguration of the english association and literary club on 25th september 2025 at 2.30 pm in general hall-1.

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a

welcome address delivered by Dr. sheena elizabeth varghese, Assistant

Professur, Department of english she warmly greeted the dignitaries,

faculty and students, highlighting the vision of the association as a

Platform for nurturing communication skills and literary talent.

The official inauguration was carried out by prof. (or.)

A.V sujith, principal, GCTE, TVM. In his address, he spoke about the

relevance of language, and literature in Teacher education and how

literary engagement enhances creativity. His inspiring words encouraged

students to explore literature as a means of understanding life and

humanity.

The event was further graced by felicitations from

Prof. (Dr) Anju. I, vice principal and prof (or) Issac paul, Dept of

commerce. Both congratulated the department of English for initiating

the association. After the formal session, students presented a series

of language and literary programmes. The performances included an

english song by Arunima, a hindi poem by Asha, tongue twister

competition, and a malayalam poem by suhana. There was also a

spell be competition and a sanskrit poem recitation by jeevan.

these activities highlighted the students creativity and the college linguistic diversity.

the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Anjith das, association secretary, who expressed gratitude to all participants and faculty members. the event ended with the national anthem, symbolizing unity and pride.
