INAUGURATION OF TAMIL ASSOCIATION
The inauguration of the Tamil Association of Government College of Teacher Education was held on ___ at 9:30 a.m. in General Hall – 21/08/25
The programme commenced with the invocation song “Tamil Thaai Vazhthu” rendered by Ms. Anusuya. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr. S. Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Tamil.
The function was presided over by our respected Principal, Dr. A. V. Sujith. The Special Guest of the day was Dr. K. Manikeraj, Joint Director of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala. He inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp and formally introduced the Tamil Association and its objectives to the gathering. Ms. Reshma explained the meaning of the Association’s name.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest spoke about the greatness of Tamil language, explained the meanings of the words teacher and student, and highlighted the definition of teacher and student as given in Nannool. A memento was presented to him by the college as a token of respect.
The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. K. Rajeshree, Assistant Professor, Department of Natural Science, who elaborated on the richness of Tamil. This was followed by a Tamil song presented by Ms. Suhana, I B.Ed. The next felicitation was delivered by Dr. Shiba T. C., and thereafter another Tamil song was sung by Ms. Adhrija, I B.Ed.
Ms. Reshma then introduced certain English words of modern usage in their Tamil equivalents, which was an informative session. A Tamil song was also rendered by Ms. Asha, I B.Ed.
Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. P. Bhagavathi, I B.Ed. With this, the programme came to a successful conclusion.
The Tamil Association Inauguration proved to be a meaningful and memorable event, highlighting the glory of Tamil language and inspiring student teachers to cherish and uphold its legacy.
